Jaipur: The five-day grand edition of Miss Urvashi Season 5 – 2026, a national-level beauty pageant, concluded successfully at The Trade International, Ajmer Road, Jaipur. Contestants from different cities across India participated in the pageant and showcased their talent, confidence, personality, communication skills, and stage presence.

At the grand finale, Akshra Negi from Shimla was crowned Miss Urvashi 2026. Her performance across the various competition rounds showcased confidence, personality, communication skills, and strong stage presence.

The projects span railways, roads and other infrastructure, strengthening connectivity and logistics in the region.

A major highlight of the visit was the completion of the 2,800-km Dedicated Freight Corridor, which Prime Minister Modi described as a historic achievement for 21st-century India and a major milestone for Gati Shakti and the country’s logistics transformation.

During his address, the Prime Minister also traced Vadodara’s journey from an education and industrial centre to an important hub for modern manufacturing and emerging technologies. He highlighted the city’s evolution across textiles, tiles, oil and petrochemicals and its growth as a major MSME hub. He also referred to the city’s role in India’s aerospace manufacturing journey, including the C-295 aircraft programme.

Linking Vadodara’s industrial journey with the opportunities ahead, Prime Minister Modi said the convergence of education, skills and industry would be crucial for India’s next phase of development. He urged young people to make the most of the current period, describing it as an important phase for India’s youth and calling upon them to contribute towards the goal of a developed India by 2047.

Gujarat: Ahead of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s visit to Vadodara, the Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) has undertaken a large-scale cleanliness and environmental campaign across the city, with participation from thousands of citizens, sanitation workers, officials, elected representatives, educational institutions and NGOs.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Vadodara on September 8, where he will inaugurate and lay the foundation stones for various development projects worth Rs. 35,200 crore in Gujarat. He will also address the ‘NaMo 4 Viksit Bharat’ event in the city.

The cleanliness campaign, being conducted as part of the Gujarat government’s special ‘Swachhata Se Swagat’ initiative for the visit, has focused on public spaces, lakes, gardens, healthcare and childcare facilities, heritage sites, water bodies and other parts of the city. The campaign from September 1 to 4 saw extensive participation across the city.

On September 1, over 16,000 citizens participated in a cleanliness drive at Kamlanagar Lake and its surrounding areas, while 24,000 people took part in cleanliness activities across 19 wards. Around 300 machines and vehicles, including mechanical sweepers, self-propelled sweeping machines, door-to-door collection vehicles, e-vehicles, JCBs and dumpers, were deployed for the operations. Plantation and sapling distribution activities were also carried out as part of environmental awareness campaign.

On September 2, the VMC extended the campaign to Anganwadi Centres and Urban Primary Health Centres (UPHCs). Cleanliness drives were conducted at 30 Anganwadi Centres with the participation of around 3,000 people.

Cleanliness activities were also held at 101 UPHCs, comprising 78 government and 23 private centres, with participation from nearly 24,000 citizens. The campaign brought together civic officials and staff, sanitation workers, public representatives, healthcare institutions, educational institutions, NGOs and citizens. Around 2,400 saplings were planted and distributed across Anganwadi Centres, UPHCs and other locations.

On September 3, the drive focused on the city’s heritage and cultural assets. Around 1,200 people participated in the cleanliness drive at Karodiya Stepwell, while over 25,000 citizens took part in cleanliness activities across all 19 wards. The campaign covered around 47 km across Karodiya Stepwell and other locations in the city. More than 2,400 saplings were planted and distributed, while 320 machines and vehicles were deployed. The drive sought to combine cleanliness and beautification with environmental stewardship, with particular emphasis on heritage sites, stepwells and other cultural spaces.

The campaign continued on September 4 with a focus on Vadodara’s natural and recreational assets. Around 1,200 people participated in cleanliness activities at Gotri Lake and Garden and the Kamlanagar Lake and Garden area. Around 12,000 participants joined the cleanliness drive along the Kavad Yatra route, covering approximately 80 km, while another 25,000 citizens participated in drives across all 19 wards. The day’s activities covered approximately 140 km in total, with 380 machines and vehicles deployed. Around 2,700 saplings were planted and distributed.

The activities were aimed not only at cleaning public spaces but also at encouraging greater citizen participation and awareness of the importance of maintaining the city’s public, natural and cultural assets.

Dr. Dhanwantari Jha invited as India’s only Ayurveda representative amid renewed India–China engagement

New Delhi [India], September 5: At a time of renewed diplomatic engagement between India and China, Dr. Dhanwantari Jha, Indian Ayurvedic physician and international Ayurveda educator, has been invited to participate in the 2026 Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Forum on Traditional Medicine, being held in Nanchang, Jiangxi Province, China, from September 16–18, 2026.

Dr. Dhanwantarikumar Harinath Jha is the only Indian participant and the only representative of Ayurveda invited to the academic dialogue on traditional medicine education during the Forum, where experts will discuss educational standards, qualification and mutual recognition, digital technology and the future of traditional medicine education.

The Nanchang invitation comes immediately after the 26th SCO Summit in Bishkek, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping were seen exchanging greetings and interacting ahead of the summit sessions. The interaction has been widely viewed as a sign of renewed high-level engagement between New Delhi and Beijing following years of strained relations.

The timing also coincides with the 25th anniversary of the SCO, which is looking towards a broader agenda of regional cooperation, including education, culture, people-to-people ties and civilisational exchange. During India’s SCO chairmanship, Traditional Medicine was established as one of the new areas of cooperation, alongside Startups and Innovation, Digital Inclusion, Youth Empowerment and Shared Buddhist Heritage.

The Nanchang Forum therefore provides a timely platform for India’s Ayurvedic perspective to contribute to the wider SCO discussion on traditional medicine education, professional standards, qualification recognition and international cooperation.

Dr. Dhanwantari Jha’s participation follows an extensive Ayurveda education and outreach programme across China during July and August, including programmes in Huzhou, Changshu, Suzhou, Hangzhou, Shanghai and Beijing, as well as engagements at the Indian Consulate in Shanghai and the Embassy of India in Beijing.

Through Ayurved Nidhi, an institute accredited by RAV–ATAB under the Ministry of AYUSH, Dr. Dhanwantari Jha and Dr. Nidhi Jha have been involved in international Ayurveda education since 2017, conducting programmes across Europe and training students from countries including China, Japan, the United States, Russia, the United Kingdom, Canada and several other nations.

Their international work has also contributed to India’s growing Ayurveda and wellness tourism. Through the AYUSH Visa, numerous foreign nationals have travelled to India for Ayurvedic consultations and treatments under Dr. Jha, further strengthening people-to-people connections through health and traditional medicine.

A wider India–China knowledge exchange

India and China are home to two of the world’s major traditional medical knowledge systems—Ayurveda and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). Their interaction provides a natural platform for dialogue on traditional medicine education, preservation of knowledge, professional training and responsible internationalisation.

The SCO itself has increasingly recognised traditional medicine as an area for cooperation. In 2025, its Forum on Traditional Medicine in Nanchang called for greater international collaboration in traditional medicine, including training young practitioners and strengthening health cooperation among SCO countries.

The current moment therefore brings together three important developments: the SCO’s 25th anniversary, renewed India–China diplomatic engagement and the growing international cooperation in traditional medicine.

Against this backdrop, Dr. Jha’s participation from September 16–18 in Nanchang places Ayurveda within a wider conversation on education, traditional knowledge and people-to-people cooperation across the SCO community.

His missions involved research in materials science, combustion, life sciences and microgravity.

He subsequently served as a Space Shuttle CAPCOM, Director of Operations at NASA’s Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center in Russia and International Space Station Program Scientist. His professional achievements have been recognised with multiple NASA honours, including four NASA Group Achievement Awards, four NASA Space Flight Medals, two NASA Exceptional Service Medals and the NASA Distinguished Service Medal.

New Delhi [India], August 24: The Chairman and CEO of the Railway Board today visited the IRCTC War Room at the World Trade Centre in New Delhi and undertook a detailed review of its monitoring, surveillance and operational activities.

During the visit, the Chairman spent nearly two hours reviewing the functioning of the War Room and interacting with IRCTC CMD (L/A) Rahul Himalian and senior Directors and officials. The event, titled “Nourishing Minds, Shaping Futures – Strengthening Nutrition Security through Multi-Sectoral Convergence in Gujarat,” brought together senior government officials, regulatory bodies, and industry stakeholders to accelerate coordinated action against micronutrient deficiencies and advance the state’s journey from food security to comprehensive nutrition security.

The consultation facilitated focused discussions on strategies for improving nutrition outcomes across the state. Key sessions from Jiganasha Pandya, Mission Director, Poshan Abhiyan, Deepak Satarni, Joint Director, DPCS, Akshda Bane, Asst. Director (Technical), FSSAI, WCD, and Vipul Rana, Designated Officer, FSDA, addressed the national regulatory framework for food fortification, state-level implementation and enforcement, and the critical role of public health systems in integrating micronutrient interventions. The dialogue emphasized a lifecycle approach, with a spotlight on strengthening maternal and child nutrition through ICDS and POSHAN initiatives, as well as enhancing school nutrition programs.

In her inaugural address, Akshda Bane, Asst. Departmental experience-sharing sessions provided a platform for pivotal departments to present their initiatives. The Food & Drugs Control Administration (FDCA) outlined its efforts in enforcement and market surveillance. Representatives from the Women & Child Development Department and the Department of School Education detailed their contributions to strengthening nutrition security through ICDS and PM POSHAN, respectively.

A key highlight of the event was the moderated open house discussion, which focused on developing a state roadmap for nutrition security through multi-sectoral convergence. Participants deliberated on addressing existing gaps, sharing innovations, and identifying opportunities for new programmes and partnerships. The discussion reinforced that combating hidden hunger is a shared societal responsibility, requiring collaborative action from all stakeholders through mutual exchange of experience and knowledge.

The consultation concluded with a summary of key recommendations, including strengthening last-mile delivery of fortified staples, enhancing community awareness through strategic communications, and establishing a robust monitoring framework for nutrition interventions. It was also suggested that a joint committee should be formed that will help understand the on-ground adoption and awareness challenges and percolate the solutions in a collaborative manner across departments.

The event witnessed active participation from over 80 stakeholders, including representatives from FSSAI, FDCA, the Women & Child Development Department, the Department of School Education, the Department of Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, food business operators (FBOs) and industry associations.

New Delhi [India], August 12: The Indian Air Force proudly announces the 2nd Edition of the Sekhon Indian Air Force Marathon, to be held on 04th October 2026 at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, New Delhi. More than a sporting event, the marathon is a national tribute to Flying Officer Nirmal Jit Singh Sekhon, Param Vir Chakra, the only Indian Air Force officer to be awarded the nation’s highest gallantry award.

During the 1971 Indo-Pak War, Flying Officer Sekhon displayed extraordinary courage at Srinagar Air Base, taking on six Pakistani Sabre jets single-handedly in his Folland Gnat. His supreme sacrifice, unmatched leadership, and unwavering devotion to duty continue to inspire generations of Indians. Born in 1943 in Ludhiana, Punjab, he inherited a proud family tradition of serving the nation, was commissioned as a Pilot Officer in 1967, and laid down his life defending the skies of Srinagar in 1971, earning the Param Vir Chakra posthumously.

New Delhi, 10 July 2026 — As India accelerates towards its Viksit Bharat 2047 vision, the ITS India Forum convened a high-level Round Table Discussion on the regulatory framework for Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X) technology at the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar International Centre, New Delhi. Held under the theme “India Connected Mobility and V2X Roadmap for Viksit Bharat 2047,” the session brought regulators, industry, academia and road-safety experts to one table, with keynote interventions across two moderated sessions, to shape a common national response to TRAI’s Consultation Paper on V2X ahead of its Open House Discussion on 23 July 2026.

A structural shift for a generational crisis

The urgency is stark. India recorded over 1.7 lakh road deaths in 2024 — the highest toll of any country in the world, with road crashes costing the economy an estimated 3.14% of GDP each year. Despite sustained investment in engineering, enforcement and awareness, fatalities keep rising. Connected-vehicle technology represents the first genuinely structural shift available to Indian road-safety policy in a generation: the ability to warn a driver, a pedestrian or an intersection of danger before a collision occurs, rather than merely recording it afterwards.

The Forum framed the core idea in the starkest possible terms. As per the government’s own Sarathi driver database, India has over 20 crore (200 million) licensed drivers — a population larger than most countries on earth, spanning every social background, skill level, language and driving culture imaginable. No training programme, however ambitious, can lift 200 million people to a single standard of judgement and discipline on a road that everyone is forced to share. If the solution depends on perfecting human behaviour at that scale, it will fail. The only lever that scales is the vehicle itself: engineered, networked and made uniformly aware of danger, regardless of who is behind the wheel.

“We have over 20 crore — 200 million — drivers on Indian roads today, as per the government’s own Sarathi database. They come from different social backgrounds, skill levels and driving cultures. We cannot bring 200 million people to the same standard of understanding on a road all of them have to share — that is not a training problem, it is a scale problem, and scale problems are not solved person by person. But we can control the vehicles. Uniformly. Every time. With technology. So the question before us is simple: do we keep betting road safety on human perfection, or do we finally shift that burden to the vehicle itself? I know which bet I would take — controlling vehicles through connected-vehicle technology, not chasing the impossible task of perfecting every driver.”

India picks its path

Anchoring the regulatory discussion, Shri Akhilesh Kumar Trivedi (Advisor, Network, Spectrum & Licensing, TRAI) traced how the enabling framework under the Telecommunications Act, 2023 supports connected mobility, and set out the consultation’s open questions. India is converging on Cellular-V2X (C-V2X) as its harmonised ITS technology, with 30 MHz of spectrum (5875–5905 MHz) earmarked for initial deployment and a further 20 MHz (5905–5925 MHz) reserved for future ITS use. On-Board Units in vehicles are licence-exempt for easy adoption, while Roadside Units require authorisation to keep deployment coordinated — a quiet but genuinely significant milestone.

One Roadside Unit can save lives from day one

A recurring theme was that safety benefits need not wait for mass adoption. Mr. Rojer Babu (Technical Director, Danlaw Technologies India) welcomed the de-licensing of V2V spectrum but stressed the “network-effect” reality: vehicle-to-vehicle communication becomes powerful only once a large share of the fleet is connected, whereas a single Roadside Unit at a dangerous junction begins protecting every passing vehicle immediately, regardless of who is driving. This makes infrastructure-first deployment (V2I) the fastest path to real-world impact, and the priority for India’s near-term rollout.

Built for Indian roads, not imported wholesale

India’s safety case is structurally different from Western markets. Dr. Mukti Advani (Senior Principal Scientist, CRRI) pointed to data showing that nearly 65% of India’s road fatalities involve two-wheeler riders and pedestrians — the hardest and costliest to protect. With bikes, autos, tractors and people sharing the road amid limited lane discipline, use-cases, sensor fusion and certification norms must be designed for India’s mixed-traffic reality. Reinforcing the point, Mr. Suresh Chandra (former Sr. Director/DDG, STQC, MeitY) urged localisation for local languages and diverse users, encrypted communication and indigenous chipsets, warning that a warning a driver cannot understand is no warning at all.

Keep it open, shared and fair

A strong consensus held that safety-critical spectrum at 5.9 GHz should remain shared, non-exclusive and safety-first. Auctioning it exclusively to telecom licensees, participants cautioned, would raise costs and shut out precisely the entities best placed to deploy roadside infrastructure at scale — road authorities, smart-city SPVs and State governments. The Forum’s position rests on four guiding principles: prioritise rollout and road safety; no monopoly and no high barriers to entry; interoperability through common standards so every vendor’s devices work together; and spectrum that stays shared and accessible, in line with global best practice.

Industry ready to move — with evidence, not haste

The automotive industry signalled clear intent. Mr. Prashant Banerjee (CEO & Executive Director, SIAM) outlined a roadmap oriented toward spectrum release and backed the Supreme Court Committee’s road-safety focus, while advocating a phased approach — roughly six months of structured testing before communication is gradually widened. Chief Guest Shri Sanjay Bandopadhyaya, IAS (Retd.), Member of the Supreme Court Committee on Road Safety, anchored the accountability perspective, insisting that every intervention be backed by data and every authorised operator be answerable for outcomes. Speakers also flagged a critical lesson from earlier projects: on-paper compliance does not equal field-grade performance, making open-road pilots and phased, security-hardened rollouts essential.

A phased roadmap towards 2047

Rather than a single national mandate, the Forum favoured a phased path: finalising the regulatory and spectrum framework in the near term; piloting Roadside Units on two or three high-fatality corridors such as the Samruddhi Expressway and the Delhi–Jaipur highway; scaling to State-identified black-spot corridors and urban intersections with standards aligned across MoRTH and ARAI; and, ultimately, nationwide V2I corridor coverage that unlocks V2V value as vehicle penetration rises — integrated with National Highways and India’s Viksit Bharat 2047 mobility goals. The consolidated outcomes will be submitted as the Forum’s formal response to TRAI ahead of the 23 July Open House Discussion.

The second panel, “Healthy Reporting or Hidden Fear?” challenged the assumption that fewer complaints necessarily indicate safer workplaces and focused on reporting culture, employee trust and confidence in grievance redressal mechanisms.

The post-lunch session, “When Leaders Shape Culture,” emphasised the critical role of leadership in fostering respectful workplaces. Panellists agreed that organisational culture is shaped not merely by policies but by everyday leadership behaviour, empathy and accountability.

She also placed India’s legislative journey within the broader global discourse on workplace harassment laws.

Inspired by real workplace situations, the book presents ten complex POSH inquiries through a fictional narrative, guiding readers through every stage of a workplace investigation—from the receipt of a complaint and evaluation of evidence to ethical dilemmas, procedural fairness, decision-making and institutional learning. The ceremony was held in the august presence of General Dr V K Singh, Hon’ble Governor of Mizoram and Patron of the initiative. The race was conducted at Cariappa Parade Ground, Delhi Cantonment, where 8000+ of citizens, soldiers, veterans, defence families, students, institutions, corporate teams and fitness enthusiasts came together to take part in one of India’s most iconic tribute runs.

“The President’s Bodyguard Soldierathon is not just a run – it is a national expression of gratitude to the soldiers of India. It brings citizens and the Armed Forces together in the true spirit of service, discipline and patriotism. The legacy of The President’s Bodyguard is one of honour, courage and duty, and this historic initiative will inspire generations to remember, respect and stand with our soldiers,” said General Dr V K Singh, PVSM, AVSM, YSM, Hon’ble Governor of Mizoram, Former Chief of the Army Staff and Patron, Soldierathon.

The President’s Bodyguard Soldierathon stood as a grand national tribute to the courage, sacrifice and service of India’s soldiers. Guided by the message Run With Soldiers, Run For Soldiers, the event strengthened the bond between civilians and the Armed Forces, while giving citizens a rare opportunity to express their respect for the men and women who serve the nation.

The President’s Bodyguard, popularly known as PBG, is one of the most prestigious military regiments of India. Raised in 1773, The President’s Bodyguard is the personal troops of the Hon’ble President of India, the world’s only Airborne Cavalry Regiment, the oldest Risala and the senior most regiment of the Indian Armed Forces. For 253 years, the regiment has stood as a symbol of honour, loyalty, courage, discipline and selfless service to the nation.

Its soldiers represent the finest balance of ceremonial excellence and operational readiness. Trained as horsemen, paratroopers and tankmen, the men of The President’s Bodyguard carry forward a legacy that is both historic and living. The inaugural President’s Bodyguard Soldierathon celebrated this extraordinary journey while also commemorating 27 years of Kargil Vijay Diwas, paying tribute to the bravery, sacrifice and victory of India’s soldiers.

The Soldierathon was held in three race categories: Paramvir Run 10 km, Mahavir Run 5 km and Vir 3 km. At Cariappa Parade Ground, the atmosphere reflected the spirit of a national tribute. From competitive runners to first-time participants, from soldiers and veterans to students and families, every participant carried the same emotion: gratitude towards India’s Armed Forces. For many, the run was not about timing. It was about remembrance. Every step was a salute, every kilometre carried pride, and every participant became part of a larger national message that India remembers, respects and stands with its soldiers.

The event also supported the larger message of the Fit India Movement and encouraged young citizens to embrace healthy living through the message Say Yes to Sports and No to Drugs. Beyond the finish line, the President’s Bodyguard Soldierathon carried a deeper national purpose. Proceeds from Soldierathon support the Paraplegic Rehabilitation Centre of the Armed Forces, where injured and wounded soldiers receive treatment, rehabilitation and support. The event also supports the welfare of the wards of battle casualties and other soldier welfare initiatives. In addition, the PBG Soldierathon intends to support the troops and horses of The President’s Bodyguard, including welfare efforts for PBG personnel and the care of horses that remain central to the regiment’s proud equestrian tradition.

Major Surendra Poonia, VSM, Founder of Soldierathon and Fitistan, said, “I had the honour and privilege of serving in The President’s Bodyguard. This is my own regiment, and to see the inaugural President’s Bodyguard Soldierathon being flagged off by the Hon’ble President of India is an emotion beyond words. Jeevandatta Argade of Barshi has been appointed as the In-charge for Eastern Uttar Pradesh (In-charge – Uttar Pradesh East). In the backdrop of the forthcoming Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, this appointment is being considered organisationally significant, and he has been entrusted with the responsibility of making the Kisan Congress organisation in Eastern Uttar Pradesh broader and more effective, with the issues of farmers and agricultural labourers at the centre of its activities.

On the recommendation of former Chief Minister and senior Congress leader Sushilkumar Shinde and Member of Parliament Praniti Shinde, and on the instructions of All India Kisan Congress National President Sukhpal Singh Khaira, Akhilesh Shukla, Organisation In-charge and National Vice-President, has entrusted Adv. Jeevandatta Argade with this important responsibility.

According to the official appointment letter issued by the All India Kisan Congress on 6 August 2026, Adv. Argade will be responsible for organisational activities in Eastern Uttar Pradesh and will work in coordination with the President of the Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee as well as the President of the Pradesh Kisan Congress for Eastern Uttar Pradesh. The appointment letter also expresses the expectation that he will contribute towards revitalising the Kisan Congress, making the organisation more active, dynamic and effective, and strengthening the organisational base of the Congress party.

Eastern Uttar Pradesh is regarded as an extremely important region from social, political and agricultural perspectives. Through the Kisan Congress, special emphasis will be placed on providing an organisational platform for issues such as remunerative prices for agricultural produce, rising input and production costs, irrigation facilities, agricultural credit, crop insurance, losses caused by natural calamities, employment-related concerns of agricultural labourers, basic amenities in rural areas, and the various problems faced by small and marginal farmers.

Against the backdrop of the forthcoming Assembly elections, plans will be formulated to strengthen the party organisation in rural areas through continuous interaction with workers at the village, tehsil and district levels, coordination with farmers’ and agricultural labourers’ organisations, study of local issues, public outreach initiatives, farmers’ meetings and various organisational programmes aimed at taking the party’s position to the general public. Emphasis will be placed on developing an organisational working methodology by taking into consideration local issues and regional circumstances.

Adv. Jeevandatta Argade is presently serving as the National Coordinator of the All India Kisan Congress, and he has now been entrusted with the additional and significant responsibility of serving as In-charge for Eastern Uttar Pradesh. It is believed that his experience in organisational coordination, public relations and interaction with workers and citizens on various social issues will be utilised to expand the organisational reach of the Kisan Congress in Eastern Uttar Pradesh.

In particular, as farmers and agricultural labourers form the backbone of the rural economy, emphasis will be placed on undertaking a comprehensive public outreach campaign to understand and effectively raise the economic, social and administrative difficulties connected with their day-to-day lives, rather than viewing their concerns merely from an electoral perspective. The appointment will also place before Argade the challenge of making local workers more active in the organisational process and strengthening the chain of coordination from the village level to the state level.

In the official appointment letter of the All India Kisan Congress, the expectation has been expressed that, under the leadership of Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, Congress Parliamentary Party Chairperson Sonia Gandhi, Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, and Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Argade will contribute towards expanding the ideology of the Congress party and making the Kisan Congress stronger and more dynamic.

Curated by Act to Action, this joyful dance session brought together children, parents and even grandparents, becoming one of the most cheerful and colourful highlights of the festival.

As evening approached, Kabir Cafe mesmerised the audience with a soulful performance featuring songs like “Mat Kar Maya Ka Ahankar,” “Kya Leke Aaya Hai,” and “Do Din Ka Hai Mela”, creating an emotional blend of Kabir’s timeless poetry and contemporary music.

Later, the Textile Walk showcased Rajasthan’s rich textile heritage reimagined through AI and modern technology, offering a visually stunning experience where tradition met innovation. The walk was partnered by Rajasthan Fashion Fest, with Killer Jeans as styling partner and Style A Craze as salon partner.

The night reached its grand crescendo with a powerful performance by the legendary Indian Ocean Band. With iconic tracks like “Tu Kisi Rail Si Guzarti Hai,” “Man Kasturi,” and “Bande,” Rahul Ram fused rock and folk to keep thousands of spectators dancing till late night, transforming the first day into a historic musical memory.

Jaipur: On the second day of India Stone Mart 2026, the Jaipur Architecture Festival 2026 was ceremoniously inaugurated at the Jaipur Exhibition & Convention Centre (JECC), Sitapura. Addressing the inaugural ceremony, the Chief Guest, Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister Smt. Diya Kumari, described the festival as a platform that gives global recognition to Rajasthan’s architectural heritage, stone industry, and craft traditions. She said that whether it is the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, Akshardham, historical monuments, religious sites, or prestigious hotels and buildings across the world—if one observes closely, the stone used in most of them is from Rajasthan. It is a matter of immense pride for the state that the soil and stone of Rajasthan are visible across the globe.

The formal inauguration at the Mugdha Convention Hall began with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp. The occasion witnessed the presence of renowned architects from India and abroad, policymakers, industry representatives, and senior officials from institutional organizations on the dais.

While addressing the gathering, Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari said it was a matter of pride for her to honour such a large and distinguished group of architects on one platform. She expressed her gratitude to Laghu Udyog Bharati for inviting her to this grand event and thanked the organizers. Speaking about Shilpgram, she said that providing such a large platform and dedicated space to small artisans and handicraft craftsmen is a commendable initiative. It will not only give artisans, students, and youth an opportunity to learn, but will also open new avenues for exporters. She added that in the coming years, the event could take an even broader form and should be organized for a longer duration instead of being limited to four days. Emphasizing the vision of “Development as well as Heritage,” she stressed the need to integrate traditional architecture with modern architectural practices.

On the inauguration of the Jaipur Architecture Festival 2026, the Deputy Chief Minister said that this event is a significant opportunity for those associated with Rajasthan’s handicrafts, handloom, and marble industries. She noted that Rajasthan is the home of handicrafts, and such platforms are essential to further strengthen this sector, which still needs greater focus and development.

Referring to the Prime Minister’s mantra of “Development as well as Heritage,” she said that architectural designs and elements found in old historical buildings should be adopted in new constructions. She suggested that in the coming years, such festivals should be organized for up to ten days instead of being restricted to four days, so that more people can benefit from them.

She further said that Jaipur is globally known for architecture and is the world’s first planned city. Being associated with such a city, which holds a special place in global architecture, is a matter of pride. She added that not only in India but also in many historic and iconic buildings across the world, stone from Rajasthan has been used—an achievement that brings great pride to the state.

Diya Kumari also said that legends from the world of architecture are present at this festival, and getting the opportunity to honour them is a proud moment for her. Describing the exhibition as grand, she said that the large pavilions, impressive stalls, and models prepared by students are the key highlights of the event.

Anju Singh Highlights Key Features of the Event

New Delhi, February 2026: The capital witnessed an electrifying blend of faith and festivity as Via Veda hosted a grand Maha Shivratri Bhajan Jamming Night at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium. What began with the serene notes of the Ganga Aarti soon transformed into a high-energy devotional concert, drawing thousands of attendees across age groups.

The evening seamlessly merged traditional chants with immersive soundscapes, creating what organisers called a “bhajan clubbing” experience. Chennai : A three-day Chadar Mahotsav and DadaGuru Ektisa Path will be organized from March 6 to 8, 2026, in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan. Preparations at the Mahotsav venue in Jaisalmer are in full swing. The three-day programme will be inaugurated by RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat.

The special highlight of the programme will be the historic Mahasankalp on March 7, when (1 Crore 8 Lakh) devotees across the world will collectively recite the DadaGuru Ektisa Path simultaneously. The programme is being organized under the aegis of Dada Gurudev Shri Jindattsuri Chadar Mahotsav Samiti. Representatives from Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Hindu Adhyatmik evam Seva Sansthan, Vidya Bharati, and several social and cultural organizations will participate in the event.

The programme will be conducted in the pavan nishra of Gachchhadhipati Acharya Shri Maniprabh Suri Ji. The inspirational force behind this grand Mahotsav is Pujya Acharya Shri Jinmanojna Sagar Ji. Key Programmes Over Three Days

On March 6, the first day of Chadar Mahotsav in Jaisalmer, the Mahotsav will commence with the Mangal Pravesh of Gachchhadhipati Shri, Acharyas, Upadhyays, and Bhagwants. During the subsequent Dharma Sabha, RSS Sarsanghchalak Mohan Rao Bhagwat will be present. On this occasion, the Chadar Ceremony coin and a Special Postal Stamp will be released. Sacred Chadar: A Centre of Unwavering Faith

According to Organizing Committee Secretary Padam Tatia, the first DadaGuru, Acharya Shri Jindattsuri, is regarded as a great spiritual Acharya of the 11th century. As per tradition, his Agni-Sanskar was performed on land granted by King Arnoraj in Ajmer. It is believed that during the Agni-Sanskar, the Chadar did not burn — an extraordinary and divine occurrence that remains a symbol of unwavering faith for devotees even today.

Historical references suggest that approximately one and a half centuries ago, the Maharawal of Jaisalmer had this Chadar brought from Anhilpur Patan to mitigate a devastating epidemic. Presently, the Chadar is preserved at Shri Jinbhadra Suri Gyan Bhandar located within Jaisalmer Fort. The Chadar Mahotsav is organized based on this sacred tradition.

Two-Day National Vidwat Sangoshthi

On March 7 and 8, 2026, a National Vidwat Sangoshthi will be organized on the theme: “Bharat ki Sanskritik Ekta, Samajik Sadbhav evam Samrasta mein DadaGuru Parampara ka Yogdan.”

Jodhpur University, Rajasthan University, Prakrit Bharati Sansthan, and the Centre for Society and Culture Studies, among other prestigious academic institutions, will participate as Knowledge Partners. In the evening, a live theatrical presentation based on the life of Dadagurudev will be staged for the first time.

March 7: A grand Chadar procession will begin from Jaisalmer Fort. Subsequently, 10.8 million devotees worldwide will recite the Dadaguru Iktisa Paath. National Scholarly Seminar

On March 7 and 8, 2026, a National Scholarly Seminar will be held on the theme: “Contribution of the Dadaguru Tradition to India’s Cultural Unity, Social Harmony, and Integration.”

Institutions including Jodhpur University, Rajasthan University, Prakrit Bharati Institute, and the Centre for Society and Cultural Studies will participate as knowledge partners. Various Acharyas, Jain monks and nuns, and subject experts will be present.

Thousands of runners participate with great enthusiasm

Jaipur. The third edition of the Marudhara Half Marathon, organized by Kalptaru Shiksha Samiti with the aim of promoting health and fitness awareness in the city, concluded successfully on Sunday. More than 2,000 runners from different age groups participated enthusiastically in the 21 km, 10 km, and 5 km categories, making the event a memorable celebration of fitness.

The marathon was flagged off by the Chief Guest, Mr. Neeraj K. Pawan, Secretary, Department of Sports and Youth Affairs, Government of Rajasthan.

Distinguished guests included Mr. Jyotikumar Satija, IG, Railway Protection Force (RPF), North Western Railway; Mr. Ashish Sharma from ANS Solar; Mr. Rohit Patni from Shubhaashish Marina; and Mr. Dinesh Pahadia, General Manager, RIICO. The marathon commenced from the Bombay Hospital, Jaipur campus. Runners followed a route through the Sitapura Industrial Area up to Shubhaashish Marina and returned to Bombay Hospital, where they crossed the finish line. Jaisalmer/Ramdevra: Under the auspices of the Samajik Ekta Manch (Social Unity Forum), the historic 'Marwar Mahasammelan' was organized on Sunday at the holy pilgrimage site of Ramdevra in Jaisalmer. The grandest feature of this event was its historic 'Jal Samagam' (Water Confluence), where people from all castes and classes poured water brought from their respective homes into a single 'Sarvodaya Kalash' (Urn of Universal Upliftment) and took a solemn oath to completely root out casteism.

This was perhaps the first such occasion on the soil of Marwar where such a massive crowd gathered without the labels of caste or religion, engaging in deep brainstorming on meaningful societal issues. The main focus of the conference was centered on three key points: the eradication of unemployment, the abolition of casteism, and environmental conservation.

Historic Moment: 'Jal Samagam' and 'Sarvodaya Kalash' Around 1:00 PM, the most emotional and historic moment of the event, the 'Jal Samagam', was witnessed. Erasing the divides of caste, people from various communities brought water with them. All of this water was poured into a single urn as a symbol of unity and harmony, which was subsequently named the 'Sarvodaya Kalash'.

Industrialist Meghraj Singh Royal's Emphasis on Unemployment, Education, and Environment: Addressing the gathering, prominent industrialist and Chairman of the United Global Peace Foundation, Meghraj Singh Royal, clearly stated that unemployment is currently the biggest problem. He noted that meritorious children of Marwar scoring above 90 percent are left behind due to a lack of resources. Highlighting the immense potential for solar energy in Rajasthan, he suggested that unemployed youth should be allotted barren land and integrated into solar power generation. This, he noted, could generate crores in income and millions of jobs. He also described tourism as a massive source of employment. He elaborated on five key points:

1. Solution to Unemployment and the Solar Energy Model: In his keynote address, Royal explained that Marwar possesses limitless wealth in the form of the sun. Presenting a solid economic model, he stated that if just 10% of Rajasthan's barren land is given to the unemployed and farmers, 1 megawatt of electricity can be generated on 4 acres of land, yielding an annual income of ₹50 lakh. This model can provide direct employment to 4.5 million (45 lakh) people in Marwar and generate crores in revenue, with indirect jobs reaching into the millions.

2. Tourism and Revival of Traditional Arts: He shared his journey of putting Jaisalmer on the global tourism map in 1986 alongside Dr. Lalit K. Panwar. He explained how, starting from camel stables, he built a hotel industry that didn't just construct buildings but provided local Manganiyar singers, artisans, and dancers with a global platform and sustainable employment.

3. Scientific and Historical Explanation of Casteism: Launching a scathing attack on casteism, Royal said that in ancient times, 'caste' was identified not by birth but by skill and occupation (such as potter, barber, gardener). It was merely a work style, which was later twisted into the disease of 'casteism' by the British and politicians for their selfish motives. He compared casteism to the salty water of the sea, urging people to abandon it and create sweet water through the technology of hard work.

4. Tsunami of Technology (AI) and Warning of East India Company 2.0: He warned the youth that in the near future, technologies like Artificial Intelligence (AI) will snatch away jobs on a massive scale. Therefore, it is essential to preserve manual skills and traditional arts. Terming large corporate retail chains as the new "East India Company," he appealed to the public to stop ordering goods from foreign online companies and to support local traders and brethren instead; otherwise, 70% of the coming generations will be left unemployed.

5. Public Policy, Not Politics (Lokneeti, Not Rajneeti): Meghraj Singh Royal clarified that the purpose of this platform is not to form a political party. However, he called upon the public to send educated, capable youth who wear suits and ties and understand technology and the economy to the Legislative Assembly and Lok Sabha, rather than uneducated leaders.

Marwar's Cultural Heritage and Brotherhood - Arvind Singh Bhati: Arvind Singh Bhati, Student Union President of Jai Narain Vyas University, Jodhpur, stated that today's Mahasammelan is a collective effort to save Marwar's 'Apanayat' (sense of belonging) and love. Citing historical examples, he reminded the audience that Lord Ram ate the half-eaten berries of Mata Shabari, and the supreme societal positions given to Maharishi Valmiki and Mahatma Vidur prove that karma (deeds) is paramount. He recalled Marwar's social fabric, where from birth to death, every auspicious and religious function sees the equal and respectful participation of all castes like Nai (barber), Suthar (carpenter), Manganiyar, etc. Bhati urged the youth to avoid the 'digital cocaine' of social media and have the courage to call out what is right.

Solutions Along with Problems - Mukesh Meghwal: UGPF Manager Mukesh Meghwal, in an emotional address, shared that to prepare this unity platform, he toured the villages and hamlets of Marwar for three months, inviting all 36 communities. He emphasized that Shri Meghraj Singh Royal doesn't just point out society's problems but implements concrete solutions. Hotel management training for 100 youths at Suryagarh with a monthly stipend of ₹25,000, funding marriages for poor daughters, and providing free education for 700 children through the foundation are living examples. From the land of Baba Ramdev, he administered an oath to all attendees to strengthen social unity and brotherhood.

Hard Work is the Real Prestige - Sant Omdas Maharaj: Sant Omdas Maharaj stated that a person's prestige comes not from their money or position, but from their Purusharth (hard work/effort). Praising the selfless service of Shri Meghraj Singh, he remarked that he is 'Royal' not just on the outside, but on the inside as well. The saint honored the sacrifices made by the ancestors of the Meghwal community (such as Raja Ram Meghwal, Manana ji, etc.) for water and society during the historical construction of Pushkar, Pichola, and Mehrangarh. He called upon everyone to tear down the walls of hatred and be threaded together like beads in a single garland.

Example of Great Men and Youthful Energy - Moti Singh Jodha: Youth leader Moti Singh Jodha, in his impassioned address, asserted that untouchability and hierarchy were never part of our original culture. The chief guest at Lord Ram's coronation was Kevat (a boatman). Pabuji Maharaj was accompanied by brave men of the Bhil community, and in Maharana Pratap's army, Bhils, Gadoliya Lohars, and Hakim Khan Sur stood firmly shoulder to shoulder. From Integral Humanism to Sarvodaya: People of all religions and communities set an incredible example of unity and harmony by simultaneously pouring water into the urn placed on the stage. The exhibition, hosted in the Exhibition Hall at Hawa Mahal, featured more than 40 meticulously crafted pebble artworks. From morning 10 AM to evening 6 PM, visitors streamed in to witness how the artist had breathed life into these humble stones using colours and delicate brushwork. What struck everyone was the remarkable realism and emotional depth — many found it hard to believe at first glance that the pieces were created entirely from pebbles.

Rajkumar Gupta, a legal professional by training, has pursued pebble art as a passionate medium of expression for several years. According to him, every stone carries within it an unspoken story and feeling; the artist’s role is simply to recognise and reveal it. This philosophy shone brightly through the displayed works.

One of the most touching pieces portrayed the tender bond between a mother and child, with the innocent face of the baby resting in the mother’s lap. Jaipur: The grand AU Jaipur Cyclothon 2026 witnessed an overwhelming response as thousands of cyclists, fitness enthusiasts, students, corporate professionals and citizens participated in one of Jaipur's largest cycling initiatives, celebrating fitness, sustainability and community spirit. The event marked the culmination of a week-long campaign dedicated to promoting cycling culture, environmental conservation and healthy lifestyles.

Organised by Sanskriti Yuva Sanstha, Jaipur Runners Club and Indian Institute of Event Management and Research (IIEMR) with the support of AU Small Finance Bank and Eternal Hospital, the cyclothon brought together participants from diverse age groups and backgrounds, all united by the common message of healthier living and sustainable mobility.

Jaipur. The grand finale of Beauty Quest Bharat Season 2 lit up Shreegarh Resort, near Sun City on Sikar Road, with an evening of glamour, talent and high-energy ramp walks. After a closely fought contest, Rishika Chaudhary was crowned the winner. Sanju Chaudhary claimed the First Runner-Up title and Aanchal Chaudhary the Second Runner-Up spot.
